Pastor Frank Oliver is a fifth generation of pastor-preacher. A child prodigy, Pastor Oliver was licensed to preach at the age of seven years old. By the age of 12, he was a featured speaker at national conventions and conferences. Ordained in 1997, Pastor Frank has held positions as youth pastor, young adult pastor and director, and executive Pastor. In 2007, Pastor Frank Oliver was called and bestowed the privilege of becoming the Senior Pastor to the House of Faith Community Church (later rebranded as Uplift Church).
Pastor Oliver is a strong believer in education. He holds several degrees, an AA in Communication from Long Beach City College, a BA in Africana Studies with a minor in English from Long Beach State University. He holds a Master of Divinity from Payne Seminary and is currently planning to defend his research and obtain a Doctorate in Ministry from Payne Seminary. His history shows that he is a staunch proponent of public education and HBCUs.
A strong tenet of Pastor Oliver’s ministry is the areas of intersecting Preaching (Homiletics), Pastoral Care/Counseling, and Civil Engagement in African American Church. While a student at Long Beach City College, he started YALE (Young Anointed Leaders of Excellence) At Long Beach State, Pastor Oliver founded the college’s chapter of NAACP and was the President of both the Black Student Association and the Black Business Student Association. He holds certifications in Civic Engagement and Public Policy from Long Beach State and the University of Southern California. He is widely regarded as a consultant, expert, and faith leader in the area of civic engagement and public policy with faith-based communities. For 6 years, Pastor Oliver was a part of the council of faith-based churches invited by the then Congresswoman Karen Bass to engage President Barack Obama ‘s White House on faith communities and grass roots organizations partnership with federal government agencies. His current position is Ecumenical Liaison for the City of Los Angeles where he is charged with the task to bridge the gap and build partnerships between faith communities and city government furthers those goals.
Pastor Oliver holds many positions within the Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship. But his most important position is his family. He is a father of five beautiful kids – four biological and one adopted daughter and a plethora of spiritual sons and daughters ordained in ministry.
